Update: June 11, 2008

I've been minting coins on my own for about a year now and I've learned alot through trial and error experiences. I have done everything I can possibly think of to make this as easy and most adventageous to all customers.

Let me first say that I appreciate all my supporters and customers; without you there is no tsunrisebey.com. I started doing this because I love being creative and this was an excellent opportunity to express myself. I've also made some really wonderful friends in this venture. While I'm open to suggestions, I need to do what is good for everyone and that includes myself.

* Geocoins:

My personal geocoin philosophy is do what you feel is right. I am going to follow that idea in my geocoin minting. I have closely followed what other coin vendors are doing to see what I would like to incorporate. I have listened to you as customers and have tried to address your concerns but it is impossible to give everyone what they want because there are so many different ideas about how things should be done. I've tried to find an even balance and hopefully there is something here that makes everyone happy on some level.

* Coin Editions:

Depending on the design and popularity of a design, I am no longer going to limit numbers or mintings. That means that you are going to see more remints so that more people have an opportunity to get a coin. However there are going to be RE's and LE's. The RE: regular edition will be an open minting (remints) and the LE: limited edition will NOT be reminted. This seems to be a common practice for a number of vendors that works well. Please see the remint and limited edition sections for more clarification.

* Limited Editions:

LE's or limited edition coins will not be minted again. By that I mean that particular metal/color combination will not be used again on that particular design. I may use the same metal or the same color combination on a remint but not together. There will also be limited editions on remints, so if you missed out on the 1st run of coins, please keep in mind you have an opportunity to get an LE on a remint. Any LE's sold may and probably will have a limit of the amount you can purchase and this is to ensure that more people have access to buying and LE. As with any coin sale, it is first come, first served.

* Regular Editions:

Regular editions are open which means on a remint I may mint more of that metal/color combination. There is no limit to how many I may make available for sale.

* Remints:

All remints will be clearly noted on the sales page. I reserve the right to mint as many coins as I feel necessary. This means if I mint a popular design and decide that four months later I want to mint several different combinations, than I reserve the right to do so. For example (but this is NOT going to happen): Minting a Christmas version of the Earth Turtle during the holiday season.

* Retired:

This means that all versions of a design will no longer be minted and the design is considered retired for geocoin purposes.

* Sold Out:

This means that currently the design or edition is 'Out of Stock' but you'll need to check the sale page to see if there is a remint happening.

* Presales:

I do NOT do presales. Presales are NOT allowed by paypal. I did a presale one time and I had my account locked me for almost 2 months which meant I had no access to my money. I would love to do presales but there isn't anything worth getting my account locked again and going through what I had to endure over 2 months to prove to paypal that I was shipping my products and that customers received the products. A presale is where you pay for a coin before it is actually produced. Once the orders are in the vendor orders the coins and you typically have to wait 3 weeks for your coins to arrive.

* Reservations:

This is an advance order taken for an upcoming coin but no money is paid until the coins are 'in hand'. Then invoices are sent once the coins arrive. This is the method I prefer to use. I will now start taking reservations only when I have the coins in hand. That way I can invoice within 24 hours of your invoice and you no longer have to wait 2 weeks to pay.

*Paypal Buttons:

I have the capability to use paypal buttons but unfortunately paypal does not have a system that allows a seller to only sell a certain amount of coins. So I don't use their 'button' system for the sale of geocoins.

*Newsletter Notification:

My newsletter comes from a google email address. Email is not perfect and once I send emails out, I no longer have control. There is no way for me to know if you got the email or not. Each time I send out an email, some of the emails are returned as undeliverable, that is a problem on your end with your email program, that is nothing I can change. Everyone who has signed up for the newsletter gets sent an email. I have decided that because email is so unreliable and some people miss the announcements that I will announce the sale of a coin design via email and the geocaching.com geocoin thread. I will give advance notice via email approximately 1 week prior to the sale (announcing the sale date/time). I will open a thread a day or two announcing the date/time of sale. That way no one should miss getting the information at a reasonable time.

*Payment for coins:

I prefer paypal but if you do not have a paypal account you need to email me and ask get prior approval to send a money order (US customers only). You have 3 days to make your payment, if payment is not received, I will send youa notice that I am about to cancel your order at which time you have 24 hours to reply back to me. If I don't hear from you after that, your order will be cancelled. If you want to order but need a few extra days, please let me know, I have worked with people to extend the time to make payment. In the end it is your responsibility to make payment or arrange payment. I don't think you'll find another vendor who is as flexible as I am on receiving payments.

* Tsunrisebey Editions:

Tsunrisebey/XLE/AE whatever you want to call them, are a very limited edition of a coin design that I use to trade/auction/gift. Tsun versions will not be reminted and in most cases limited to no more than 25 coins. In the case of going to an large event like Geowoodstock, Geocoinfest, etc. I will than make a special version of no more than 100 coins but those will almost always be nontrackable. I will make all information available either way.

* Additional Information will be posted as needed.
