EARTH TURTLE OCEANIA/CACHE HOPPER SALE DATE/TIME

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

Good Evening all.  I am just doing a copy and paste of the email/newsletter I sent out. I just wanted to get the information posted on the blog.

Hello Everyone!

I will keep this email short. The 2nd minting of the Earth Turtle Oceania coins; Bora Bora, Fiji Islands, Maui and Australia will be available for sale on September 1st (tuesday) at 4:30 pm Montana time (MST) which is also the same as Denver, Colorado. There is a tsun version and additional Tahiti coins but those will be coming with me to GCF. The tsun version will not be for sale at GCF, only for trade.

The Cache Hoppers will also be available for sale; Golden Poison Dart, Blue Poison Dart and the Albino. These were supposed to go up for sale last time but due to web site issues, I could not list them in time.

The webstore has some new programming and we are hoping that this is the final fix. The programmers made some adjustments to the real-time cart system and we’re hoping that this will allow the webstore to stay available. This is our last effort to fix this cart system. If the store crashes, I will be changing shopping carts or looking into a different option on how sales will work.

If the site crashes during this sale and is not up and running with a half hour of crashing. Please consider the sale closed. I will then list the coins unannounced - meaning after the website is back up and running, I will put the coins up for sale at a different date and time only known to me. I will then send out emails to everyone letting you know the coins are up for sale. This will allow the coins to be sold and it will not overload the system. After 24 hours, if there are still coins available, I will announce the sale on the Groundspeak Forums.

Time conversions:
Eastern: 6:30 pm US, Central 5:30 pm US, Pacific 3:30 pm US
World Conversions:  Austrailia, Tasmania September 2rd, 8:30 am * Lisbon, Portugal September 1st, 11:30 pm * London, England September 1st, 11:30 pm * Zurich, Switzerland September 2nd, 12:30 am.

If you have any questions, please send me an email by some time tomorrow. I work during the day and on the day of the sale, I will not be able to answer your questions after I come home. This information will also be posted on my blog and on the Groundspeak Forums.
Thanks! tsun :)

Cache Hopper Sale Date and Time

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

Hey everyone! The second minting of Cache Hoppers has arrived and these have the gritty texture underneath unlike the first round.

We have the Golden Poison Dart Cache Hopper, The Blue Poison Dart Cache Hopper, The Albino and the Mythical Nutella Cache Hoppers. The Poison Dart and Albino versions were named after actual species. I did alittle write up on the Groundspeak forums about each of the frogs, make sure you go read about them if you haven’t already.

This will be either the last sale with the Magento shopping cart or the 1st of many that will work properly. We had a telephone conference a week or so ago and discussed what we thought could be a potential fix to having a real-time cart. I won’t get into all the specifics but we have a prgrammer who is suppose to working on a new code for the Magento cart and hopefully this takes care of the “crashing” issues. If not than I will have to go to a whole new shopping cart system that will be much like what everyone else is using and it will have it’s own issues but site crashing won’t be one of them.

The sale date/time: August 20th, 4:30 pm Montana time (Mountain Standard Time) US.

Eastern: 6:30 pm US, Central 5:30 pm US, Pacific 3:30 pm US

World Conversions:  Austrailia, Tasmania August 21, 8:30 am * Lisbon, Portugal August 20th, 11:30 pm * London, England August 20th, 11:30 pm * Zurich, Switzerland August 21, 12:30 am.

If you have any questions, please email me at tsunrisebey@gmail.com and Cache Hoppers if they are a sell out will be reminted.

Geocache GC1W53Y Bat Cave Cache

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Here is my latest pieced together geocaching video. I had to cut out a few sections because I was over the time limit for You Tube.

The round trip hike is about 3 miles if you go to Beaver Creek and back to Hauser Dam. It’s a nice workout but nothing too strenuous if you’re in relatively good shape. The hike goes along the Missouri River and lots of people head to this are for some blue ribbon trout fishing.

During the August month, Kokanee Salmon migrate to the Dam where they spawn, lay their eggs and die. The Osprey are heavy in the area during this time because it’s a feast, along with Bald Eagles. If you’re lucky you’ll catch a glimpse of Mountain Goats. Plenty of deer in the area and lots of bird watching and small critters scampering around.

I really enjoying hiking out here and many times I just hike along the river because I love the sounds and the scenery. Cache Across America is also located along this hike and is the toughest cache to get to because of all the boulder/rock climbing.

I know I enjoyed getting out and spending time with mother nature, I hope your weekend was pleasurable also.

Here’s the video ;)  tsun

CHECKING IN!

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Hey all,

I know it’s been a bit since I last wrote here. Life has been pretty busy lately and I wish I could say it was all caching related but it’s not.

My attempt at caching last weekend ended in a DNF more so because there were so many muggles and I can’t stand trying to be sneaky in a campground :) Too many tents within 25 feet and lots of people walking around. Oh well saved for another day I guess. However the dogs and I did enjoy ourselves!

Real life work has been very busy and then I come home to work on coin stuff and getting ready for Geocoinfest. 2 months may seem like a far off time frame but when it comes to coins, it’s nice to have an extra week or so of a buffer since it takes about 2 months to get a coin done if all goes smoothly.  I must have 6 or 7 coins right now, all in different stages with the mint and then working trying to get my booth stuff ordered/designed and help arranged seems to be taking up all my time. It got so bad lately that I actually contemplated quitting caching and coins and I’m serious about that. I’m used to only working on 1 design at a time that this has become a real chore and sapping all my free time. But in the end, I’ll probably be happy I did it and thank goodness I won’t have to do it again for awhile!

Cache Hoppers and the Anasazi should be arriving in the next couple of weeks (Anasazi GCF versions). Neptunes Compass and ET Oceania remint versions are on order and I expect them to be in late August. The Hoo Doo coin which has not been seen by anyone is close to being approved but I will say this; 1 version is almost entirely GLOW! I’ve never used glow enamels before but this one is going to look so cool in the dark.  This coins was done exclusively for GCF also and the Glow version will be an exclusive there so if you’re not going, I’d find someone to buy a version for you!

The Baby ET will have an order put in by weeks end and will be offered at a reasonable price to encourage releases ;) and the Armadillo has been sent in (a bit behind schedule) so I’m hoping that will be done in time for GCF. I don’t know if Pax will be done in time or not but I”m leaning toward not because I just haven’t had enough time to correct the mint artwork and I don’t want him done in anythng less than 100%. Libelula is riding the fence, I have the artwork done but I’m not sure if I’ll mint that one for GCF or not. This stuff isn’t cheap especially after adding tracking numbers so we’ll see.

Hopefully this weekend I can get out andplay a little bit but my truck has been under the weather and once I get her fixed, I should be able to get back in the mountains!

I shall be back this weekend with another post! Thanks for reading and have a great week all.
